In addition to the activities proposed at your campsite, Sardinia has a virtually infinite number of solutions to keep you occupied. Boat trips, horseriding, cycling or simply walking, all good ways to enjoy the Sardinian coastline, visiting the beautiful seaside resorts as you go, such as Stintino for example.
Head for the island of La Maddalena to visit the Asinara national park. This is one of the most remarkable islands in the entire Mediterranean, partly thanks to the colony of white donkeys that roam wild here. Protected by strict regulations, the surroundings can be appreciated through a whole host of activities, including hiking, diving and trips on the little tourist train.
The adventurers among you can head for Cagliari to discover the Roman remains. Or you can see the vestiges of an ancient civilisation, still partly unknown even today, by visiting the multitude of Nuragic sites. Try to pierce the mystery that surrounds these monuments built from huge blocks of stone, for example in the village of Barumini, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
And if you’re lucky enough to stay in Sardinia in late August, you’ll be able to see or, better still, participate in the Vela Latina regatta, an international event that attracts traditional boats and ancient yachts from across Italy. In fact, this is one of the most iconic sailing events in the entire Mediterranean Sea.
